Description

CINCH TOTE - SUN RELIEF WAXED

The concept for this Limited Edition is the result of a longing for brighter days. Although we really enjoy Winter, it seems that this year in New England we've seen far more dark & dreary days than usual. The liner fabric is so bright and warm that we had to use it for a little ocular rejuvenation.

Waxed Canvas
For this version, we took a different approach to fabric weight and structure. Normally, we use a heavier weight fabric for the body of the bag and a lighter weight for the liner of the bag (if we use a liner). We wanted to use this heavy golden yellow canvas for the liner which naturally made us think to use a more lightweight fabric for the outer shell. It's a different feel for this type of bag and we're going to experiment more with weight in the future.

The main body is waxed  canvas, as are the handles. We’ve added a grommet/tether detail similar to that found on our Brimfield Bag, which is useful for finding keys that get lost in the bottom of your bag.

Denim Cinch Top

We rinsed USA grown & woven denim for our cinch top which gave it a nice softness.

The interior hardware is solid Brass and the hand-hammered rivets are Copper.

Truly gets better with age, as most things worth holding onto should.

Patrick

Began designing and building large-scale structures before he knew that Architecture had a proper name. His design process is self described as one striving for an 'appropriateness', whereby any resulting creation should possess a clarity of thought & manufacturing process. Believes that to become a better designer, one must also become a better maker - for without 'paying one's dues' there shall be no path to expertise. Currently resides as overall 'Creative Director. Holds a degree in Architecture.

Leah

Her desire to design stems from an urge to create a sense of order in the spaces that we inhabit, while at the same time ensuring that any resulting product achieves a harmony between function and beauty. Works very closely with Patrick in the design phase and is often inspired by his early concepts & ideas. Equally important is her ability to see a project from concept phase, through material sourcing and eventual production. Has become an expert at material sourcing and could be considered 'Chief of Operations.' Holds a degree in Industrial Design.
