Information regarding the delivery of your order

Your package should be delivered anywhere in France in under 48/ 72 hours (working days) following receipt of the dispatch information which we provide to you as do our Coliposte couriers - Colissimo service & DPD.

In the instance of this deadline passing and you not having received your package, we ask that you contact us immediately, and submit a claim to Colissimo or DPD. Please then provide us with your reference number.

Once this deadline has passed, if the package is recorded as delivered, we will be unable to follow up your claim.

Packages ordered with basic colissimo delivery (not registered and not delivered to a collection point) are considered as delivered once we are notified by the Coliposte La Poste tracking service.

If you live in collective accommodation without access code security, or the package cannot be placed in your letter box, or there is a risk of theft; we recommend that you choose an alternative and more suitable means of delivery:

Either post office collection

Or to a collection point

Or with sign-on receipt

The choice of delivery method and your availability for receipt remain entirely your responsibility.

In the instance of your package being returned to us for the reasons below, and where a second dispatch is required, you will receive an invoice at your specified email address in the form of a PAYPAL payment request to cover fees to be paid prior to redelivery.

- Package unclaimed before expiry of courier deadline (collection point - post office)

- Parcel refused


Art. 1 -

The present terms and conditions of sale apply unless otherwise stipulated in specific conditions that are explicitly defined and accepted by the parties.

They are considered unreservedly and unconditionally accepted by the buyer once he or she sends the vendor, in paper or via electronic means, a duly completed purchase order, or a signed quote accompanied by the comment signed by way of agreement with the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Art. 2 -

The BUYER is a natural or legal person who authorises the completion of an order by sending a purchase order via electronic means or through the acceptance of a quote bearing the comment Agreed and signed.

The buyer is specified by name in the purchase order or quote.

Art. 3 -

THE VENDOR is a natural or legal person responsible for carrying out the submitted order. The vendor is represented by LE COMPTOIR AMÉRICAIN which has its head office at 2 Impasse des Chevau-Légers, 78000 Versailles, France.

Art. 4 -

INFORMATION: The VENDOR describes the products and services as precisely and accurately as possible. The Vendor assumes no responsibility in the case of an error of description, modification of the product specifications by the manufacturer or any other element not fundamentally altering the overall quality of the product.

Photographs and illustrations remain the property of the company LE COMPTOIR AMERICAIN and very faithfully represent our products, they are nevertheless not of a contractual nature.

Furthermore, the BUYER can at any time obtain any additional information or advice from the VENDOR which he or she deems useful by means of the website contact form.

Art. 5 -

CHOICE OF PRODUCTS. As a result, the choice and purchase of a product remain the sole responsibility of the BUYER. The VENDOR cannot be held responsible for any inability to use the product, for any reason other than the non-conformity of the product, particularly in the case of installation difficulties, such reasons can therefore not be considered grounds for compensation or cancellation of the order.

Unless otherwise stated, the BUYER remains responsible for the chosen product dimensions.

Art. 6 -

PRICE Prices include all relevant taxes, in EUROS, but delivery is not included for anywhere in metropolitan France, Europe or any other destinations.

Prices are subject to change at any given moment, particularly as a result of price variations imposed by couriers and manufacturers.

If, for any reason, the price indicated on the purchase order is incorrect, the order will not be processed without the explicit acceptance of an updated quote which has been returned by the BUYER.

Art. 7 -

APPROVAL The order will only be fully approved once payment of the total price has been received.

Art. 8 -

Issued invoices are payable to the Vendor when orders are placed and full payment is to be made in cash, via PAYPAL or bank card. No order can be processed for payment on delivery.


Art. 9 -

DEADLINES. Deadlines apply dependent on availability and according to the sequence in which orders arrive. The VENDOR retains the right to carry out either full or partial deliveries. The instance of a deadline being exceeded will not result in the payment of damages or a deduction. Nevertheless, in accordance with article L 144-1 of the consumer code, any delivery delay exceeding 25 days can lead to the cancellation of the order, without the application of penalties. Delivery charges are always recorded separately.

Art. 10 -

SHIPPING Goods travel entirely at the risk of the BUYER.

The Colissimo dispatch receipt constitutes proof of shipping. Insurance is available for purchase and is strongly recommended.

In the instance of damage, the recipient must ensure to detail any relevant comments on the courier receipt and send a follow-up confirmation letter by recorded delivery with acknowledgement of receipt to the courier within 48 hours. A copy of this letter must be sent to the VENDOR.

In the event of non-receipt, it is essential that we are informed within 4 days following the shipping information in order to ensure that our transport service provider refund procedure can be implemented as swiftly as possible.

In the event of the BUYER submitting a claim to the courier, the related claim file reference number must be immediately provided to the VENDOR.

In the event of the courier losing an insured package, a replacement or refund will be provided solely where the dispute with the courier in question is settled favourably. 

Art. 11 -

RIGHT OF RETURN In accordance with article L 121-16 of the Consumer Code, the BUYER is entitled to a right of return on the goods for either a refund or exchange within a 14-day period following the day of product receipt. The product must be returned in its entirety, in its original packaging and in perfect condition fit for resale, as per the conditions detailed in article 12.
Products that are unsealed, partially consumed or show signs of use or any damage cannot be returned.

Refunds will be provided by cheque - bank transfer or Paypal following receipt and verification of the resale condition of the products which have been returned.

Art. 12 -

CONDITIONS. The BUYER wishing to return a product must provide the VENDOR with prior notice. The latter party then undertakes to provide all necessary instructions for the return of the goods.

Art. 13 -

Irrespective of the grounds for the return, any shipping fees will remain the sole responsibility of the BUYER.

Art. 14 -

Ownership clause: The products remain the property of LE COMPTOIR AMÉRICAIN until the price has been paid in full. In the event of any dispute, the courts of the residence of the VENDOR will retain sole jurisdiction. The client acknowledges and accepts the general terms and conditions of sale.

Art. 15 -

LE COMPTOIR AMÉRICAIN reserves the right to alter the sales price of products imported in currencies other than the EURO, this applies both for decreases and increases, as well as to cancel, suspend or offer a product for sale solely against prior orders, as indicated in the product description of the article in question. This could also include the next availability date.

Art. 16 -

Given their specific nature, certain of our products are only available to order. This information is detailed in the description of the product in question, such items cannot be ordered without contacting us previously by email, so that we may inform you of the delivery time frame.
