TIN-O-Darts Metal Bookmarks by FIELD NOTES®
SHARP. BRILLIANT. PRACTICAL. THE STORY OF AN INGENIOUS INVENTION.
Like many small American businesses, Book-Darts was born out of a personal need. Bob Williams, a former English and philosophy professor, but also a librarian, archivist, printer—not to mention a talented lumberjack and boatbuilder—was looking for a way to mark his pages without damaging his books. Passionate and respectful of books, he refused to highlight, fold corners, or use bulky bookmarks. Thus, he came up with Book-Darts: a small, discreet yet effective folded steel strip for marking a specific page or line without damaging the paper.
Initially, these prototypes were handcrafted in his basement, requiring the use of five different machines. But thanks to the ingenuity and common sense of his wife, Jeanette, production has been modernized. Today, Book-Darts are manufactured on a high-speed press in Eugene, Oregon, while retaining their vintage charm and handcrafted quality.
A perfect fusion of a bookmark and a paperclip, Book-Darts slip easily into any book, notebook, or document. They not only mark a page, but also allow you to return to the exact line where you left off. Ideal for novels, memoirs, manuals, diaries, cookbooks, prayer books, or even technical manuals, they are suitable for all uses.
Packaged in an elegant 6.35 cm (diameter) metal tin, the 30 shiny stainless steel Book-Darts are as thin as a sheet of paper. Discreet yet easy to spot, they adhere perfectly to the page without damaging it, and are just as easy to remove. Durable and reusable, they constitute a lifetime supply—even if you risk giving them to friends who are seduced by their practicality, or leaving them indefinitely to mark a particularly memorable passage.
The Comptoir Américain teams were won over by this small object, both old-fashioned and modern, as useful as it is elegant. You'll find a thousand uses for them, and once adopted, you won't be able to do without them.
Keep out of reach of young children.
Made in the USA.
