Retro51 NASA Columbia Space Shuttle Rollerball
This TORNADO roller is already a “collector”; a numbered and limited edition of 1958 ex. (numbering engraved on the upper ring). This Retro51 rollerball pen closes in its classic appearance with a specific technology, a capless roller cartridge. Thanks to its guilloché wheel you can extend or retract the roller ball. A great American classic that you will use with pleasure on a daily basis but which will also make a great gift for all lovers of beautiful objects and particularly the conquest of space.
Description
Retro51 NASA Columbia Space Shuttle Rollerball
A limited edition of 1958 copies of the famous TORNADO rollerball pen in the colors of the Columbia space shuttle. Columbia was the first American space shuttle to fly in space in April 1981. It carried out 28 space flights, thus accumulating more than 300 days in space. She met a tragic end when she disintegrated when she returned to earth in February 2003.
For every Columbia pen purchased, RETRO51® will donate to the ASF (Astronaut Scholarship Foundation).
The TORNADO rollerblade. This Retro51 pen hides under a "retro-classic" aspect a proven technology of a capless roller cartridge. Its twist mechanism (a half-turn) makes the roller ball extend or retract. If you are not a fan of roller you can replace the cartridge to transform it into a ballpoint pen. The attributes are gunmetal black. The twist wheel is guilloché for good grip. It is also equipped with a clip that will allow you to hang it on a pocket or notebook cover. The Tornado rollerball is a beautiful, classic pen that you will keep for a long time or that will make a great gift.
About the brand.
Retro51® was created by Georges Kartsotis in 1990 in Dallas, Texas. Initially, the company manufactured “gift objects” in a retro spirit of the “American way of life” of the 1950s. Quality, finish and design have always been part of the brand's DNA. Very quickly, the quality of their pens was unanimously recognized and praised by users and collectors. After 30 years of activity, in 2021, the founder and animator of the brand Georges Kartsotis retired. 3 collectors took over the brand, wishing to perpetuate the spirit of this great adventure and maintaining the high standards of Retro51®. The brand's claim has not changed, "Life is too short to carry an ugly pen!®".
